Like Repels 2
There was a dog eating a rose petal,
a wolf rocking the cradle,
an assassin with a tear in his eye.
Here, which is there:
A ruby down a sewer.
A pretty girl in a car crash.
An airplane under the sea.
There was a hog in silk panties,
a bullet in your ice-cream,
a centipede chewing a Bible.
Everywhere, which is nowhere:
A match flaring, and a straw man.
Lovers in the cemetery.
Life begging love where there is none.
All through the night we heard
fox-cries from the library,
screams in a teacup,
moaning from the kittens' lair.
Like fingernails on a blackboard.
Like tin shredded with shears.
Like the hinge on a gallows.
